Business Park owners HKBP Ltd recently arranged for TWS Computer Services to set up a satellite broadband demonstration at the site following the park owner’s investigations into the opportunity to improve internet services to the 20 businesses which are based at the park.

Trading as Satellitebroadband.biz, TWS owner Tim Wallis impressed with the system’s stability and download speeds of up to 20mb download and 2mb upload.

The system can be fitted with a router to allow use of the system alongside a ‘copper’ based wired broadband so that the satellite system will switch in for streaming where there is insufficient bandwidth to allow this to be done over a wired BT based landline. With no fixed line needed and minimal set up costs (dish and router), there are flexible tariffs and no long term contracts.

Park owner John Hawkins said “it appears we have good ‘line of sight’ to the satellite that provides the platform for TWS to give us an excellent service which enables our occupiers to have much better broadband services than are available generally in this rural area. I am putting in a multi point system into our multi let office Lacey House which will give our tenants broadband and a phone without the usual set up delays.”
